Here's a cover of a great Neil Young song that we've been playing at some shows recently. This audio is from our set at The Low Beat in Albany, N.Y., on March 28, 2019, when we opened for Stevie Tombstone. Enjoy.

We have recently added a number of shows to our calendar for late winter and early spring. Follow our Facebook page for the most up-to-date info, but be sure to put this one on the calendar: We will be opening for touring songwriter Stevie Tombstone on March 28 at The Low Beat in Albany. That's gonna be a hell of a good time. Here's a little sample of his work:
Kudos to these insolent dancers and thanks to our friends at the Cooperstown Beverage Exchange!
A little impromptu Van Morrison cover for you .,. this was shot at Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market in Gloversville, which is becoming one of Gloversville's best spots for live, family-friendly acoustic music.
So far in 2019, The Insolent Willies have had the privilege of playing at many terrific venues around Upstate New York. One of our faves is The Cooperstown Beverage Exchange, where we played back in July (see previous post) and again this month. Our attempts at capturing video from that gig were foiled by some people who were enjoying themselves so much that they didn't realize their booties were shaking directly in front of the camera. :) However, we did get an audio recording, and we are pleased to share a sample set with you. Summer is always the busiest time of year for bands in the Northeast. We have a great lineup of gigs in the months ahead, both at familiar haunts and several new venues. In May we had the pleasure of playing for the first time at Pine Lake Lodge in the town of Caroga, and we ended that evening with an unplugged set in the barroom for everybody who stayed late. The Saranac Blueberry Blonde Ale was the unanimous draft favorite that night! We are excited to be heading back up to "The Pine" for a repeat performance on July 28.
Here's some video evidence of our finale for the bar crowd: As we leap headlong into 2018, we wanted to take a moment to thank everybody who supported the band over the past year. We've had some personnel changes, including the addition of Paul Gavry on accordion and fiddle, as well as Mike Gowans on guitar and bass and Chad Lenig on drums and bass. The band is evolving - we all like to sing and play multiple instruments, and we have enjoyed thinking up new ways to make our favorite songs come to life for audiences. As I write this in early January, we are in the final stages of recording and mixing The Insolent Willies' first studio album -- stay tuned for a release party! (Speaking of parties, if you are planning a private party or other social function in 2018, don't hesitate to ask about booking us to play for your guests -- we are scheduling dates several months in advance, and the calendar is filling up quickly!)

What's up?The Insolent Willies are craft-beer aficionados as well as musicians. In fact, some of their favorite live music venues happen to be purveyors of local brews. Keep up with their musical and zymological adventures right here! Archives
