We've always said that great music and great beer are a wonderful combination. Check out this interview with Lagunitas Brewery's Tony Magee, who shares our philosophy and takes it a half-step further.
Just a few thoughts on some brews we've tried this month: Try the stout at S & S Farm Brewery, try Jessica's Red Ale at Red Shed Brewery, and try the Barefoot Brewer Rye Ale at Green Wolf Brewing Co. We a pumped to announce we will be back at Red Shed in January and back at Green Wolf in February! Here's a little video from our gig Friday night at S & S ...
Photos courtesy of Doug Griffith. We will be back at Green Wolf on Feb. 17, 2018. It's been a busy and productive fall so far! The Insolent Willies have been arranging some new original tunes composed by Frank and Bill in preparation for a recording session at Tom White's Wizmak Studio this month. Stay tuned for news about our forthcoming album! The Insolent Willies duo (Bill and Frank) will perform on Bill's birthday at Green Wolf Brewing Co.'s sweet little taproom in Middleburgh, N.Y. Be sure to join us for that one if you're in the area! We also have recently had Mike O'Neill joining us on drums, and Paul Gavry has sat in on some rehearsals playing squeezebox and fiddle, and he is expected to be with us for a big show next month at The Low Beat in Albany with Man Trouble and Mike Gowans. Looking ahead to wintertime, we've been hired to perform at First Night in Saratoga this year! We will be alternating sets with Stories Told at the Hampton Inn between 6 and 11 p.m. that night. Should be a good time! For all our day-to-day news updates, be sure to "like" our Facebook page! The Insolent Willies performed at The Bacon Jam in Gloversville, N.Y., on Oct. 7, 2017. We shared the stage with our buddy Mike Gowans, as well as Will Foley and Steve Russ, Craic Agus Ceol and the French 75 Dixieland Jazz Band. The event had a beer garden with samples and pints provided by our friends at Wolf Hollow Brewing, Stump City Brewing, Nine Pin Cider and Saranac. Good times! (Photo courtesy of Mike Gowans) We had a blast performing at Wolf Hollow Brewing, an excellent craft brewery and live music venue in Glenville, N.Y. (just outside of Schenectady). The tap room has terrific live sound, and the stout was particular tasty. We highly recommend checking out Wolf Hollow, and we hope to return for another show in the future! |
What's up?The Insolent Willies are craft-beer aficionados as well as musicians. In fact, some of their favorite live music venues happen to be purveyors of local brews. Keep up with their musical and zymological adventures right here! Archives
